Privacy policy
Short version: this site counts visits with Google Analytics and does not store your details.
What I collect
This website has no accounts. It uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address in shortened form, along with the pages you view. I use this only to understand which pages are useful, and I do not try to identify visitors. You can block it with a browser extension or your browser's tracking settings. When you send a message through the contact or review form, the details you type (name, email and your message) are delivered to my inbox by Web3Forms, a form service, and are not stored on this website. I use them only to reply to you.
Videos and external links
Some pages embed YouTube videos using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and the video only loads after you click it. Once it loads, YouTube may set cookies under its own policy. Links to Fiverr, Upwork, LinkedIn, GitHub and Cal.com take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is handled by Buttondown, which sends the emails and manages unsubscribes. I use it only to send you the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask me to remove you.
Free tools and WhatsApp
The free tools (savings estimator, policy checker, subnet calculator, YAML formatter, cron explainer and Base64 or JWT decoder) run entirely in your browser. What you type or paste into them is not sent to me or saved. The only thing counted is that a tool was used (no content), through Google Analytics. The WhatsApp button opens a chat with my number in WhatsApp, under WhatsApp's own privacy policy. I use what you send there only to reply to you.
Booking a call
Booking goes through Cal.com. The details you enter there, such as your name and email, are handled by Cal.com and shared with me so we can meet.
Server logs
Like any website, the hosting provider may keep basic technical logs, such as IP address and requested page, for security and reliability. I do not use them to identify visitors.
Your choices
You can ask me at any time to delete the emails we exchanged. Write to contact@devopswithumar.com.
Last updated: October 2026. If this changes, for example if I add analytics, I will update this page first. DevOps with Umar.
